Building authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples is a journey that relies on the commitment and dedication of early childhood professionals. It is built upon mutual respect, trust, and inclusiveness. Through open communication and collaboration, this journey takes educators away from transactional relationships to relational ones. This is where reciprocal partnerships are nurtured with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and community here on the land of the Ngunnawal Peoples. This journey supports educators in implementing responsive practices in their daily work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. It involves deep listening, developing an understanding of the impact of colonisation, and a willingness to learn, unlearn, and relearn. This journey sets educators on a pathway toward collective healing and Reconciliation.
